Stepping back for a closer look

as a problem solver i know that the best first step to take when solving a problem is to take a step back and see the whole picture or in most cases, have a glimpse from a far to realize what you're missing. being in another country is literally stepping away from my life to see the "whole picture". not that i think that my life is a problem, but the sleepy little townish brisbane gave me the opportunity to look at things in retrospect. i then found myself thinking of my life and how i'm doing so far. it's then that i realize how much i have hurt other people. it's not that you go out at the beginning of the day saying to yourself "i'm gona hurt someone today."

but then i'm afraid that i have in a couple of occasions hurt someone badly. it's my nature to just take it with a grain of salt. but a guy can only take so much salt in one's life. things sometimes don't work the way you wish they would. but fact is these are things that you don't intend to happen. but they do happen. i won't even go as low as apologizing cuz i am glad that things have worked out much better than they would have if things haden't gone the way they did. and things are working out so much better now.

back to my trip.

we finally went to the zoo. lots of alligators and crocodile (mental note: do a blatant analysis on difference of alligator and crocodile) and lots of feeding frenzy. it was nice to see all those animals. and we got to pet the kangaroos and koalas. sweet..

but this wouldn't really be the highlight of my trip. truth is the highlight is having done something that i never dreamt that i'd do.

last week, on my way home after walking around the block (my hobby), i find this guy who's basking. (jo taught me that people playing music on the streets are basking, hope i got that right.. thanks jo!) so i gave him a couple of coins and sat beside him and struck a conversation. then i couldn't resist and i asked hime if i could play a bit. and i did.. played three songs and earned 10 cents.. wait.. suddenly i realize that i've written this before.. dang! i even run out of stories to tekll in another country! am i really that boring??

so it's pretty much the zoo highlight for this week..
