To all my dear kababayans.

The dinner incident that transpired in Le Cirque on Aug 1 (Manila Time) is something that i am personally not proud of. It was a lapse in judgment on my part and i, and my colleagues there, meant no disrespect whatsoever.

I apologize for not being sensitive at that time to our current economic situation and giving in to our groups wants at that time failing to consider the context by which it was taking place. There were no public funds spent during that dinner (glenver: as she and her friends claim) but that is not an excuse for us in failing to opt for a more modest way of celebrating my & Mike's anniversary.

It was truly a very special event personally. And we wanted to celebrate it with the grandeur that it symbolized for me and my family. However, as i contemplate on this event in retrospect, i realized these are privileges that i should have denied myself for the time being as a public servant.

I personally am taking this as a hard lesson i have to learn as the leader of our great nation. I sincerely pray that this do not over shadow my pure intentions and the hard work i put in everyday to improve the lives of every single Filipino (glenver: again.. so she claims).

I will work hard to earn the forgiveness of all our hungry countrymen & women.

If given the chance, i'd train our traffic enforcers in...

1. Proper interaction(s) with motorist
When a traffic enforcer stops an offending motorist, the approach should never be, "eeeh... serrr.. (sabay kamot sa ulo).. blah..blah..blah.."
it should be firm, respectful direct approach;
"Sir, pasensya na sa abala. Pinatigil kita dahil blah, blah, blah. Alam niyo ba na delikado yun at ang epekto ay blah.. blah.. blah.. At lalong lumalala ang kundisyon ng trapiko. blah. blah"

2. Proper decorum on the streets
Image management. How do we respect (maybe even fear) our traffic enforcer when they look like.. well.. they don't look the part. Discipline training, absolutely 0 enforcers laughing under the shade while traffic in front of them is absolutely bonkers!

3. Case studies an analysis
I would like to take a group of TE (traffic enforcers) trainees on a visit to a congested intersection and discuss as a group what is causing the hold-up and what are the best methods to fix then prevent these.

4. Fitness training
Jogging in the morning as part of their daily routine/work. If we expect these guys to stand under extreme conditions and be on their toes all the time, they have to be (reasonably) fit.

5. Traffic Policy review & mastery (in principle)
Our TE's now follow the law by the letter. They should fully appreciate the principle of these laws/regulations to be in a better position to use their JUDGEMENT when to be strict/firm and when to send one off with a slap on the wrist.

6. Bottleneck Management
Bottlenecks should not be attempted to be fixed where the bottleneck occurs, but waaaay before (50 meters) from where the bottleneck starts.

7. Anger Management
How to handle irate offenders in a calm, respectful, yet firm fashion.

8. Pursuit
How to properly pursue an escaping offender without endangering self and others.

Our TE's are desperately trying to do the best job that they can. But sadly they do not have the tools to do so. We should make these men proud of their craft - mold them into the elite best in what they do - with the very little (and difficult) infstrusture that we have.

I'm no expert in all these - but given the chance, i can find the best way to find and impart these knowledge to our TE's (who desperately need them).

this i think is the epitome of distraction.. i have an an inside my laptop screen.. literally!! a live ant. and trust me.. there are very few things in this world more distracting than an ant nonchalantly walking across your sentence while you email.

and you thought that was bad? i went to our IT manager and hesitantly told him my problem. he immediately told me to not kill it. apparently, i'm not the first one. only my colleague in singapore got bothered so much.. she killed the ant.. (and her screen too).

the curious story of my asymetric hickey!

i was wondering if it's appropriate for me to write this way here.. well my conclusion is that, if your old enough to know not to put dodgy things in your mouth.. your old enough to read this.. (yep.. spit that out.. you don't know where it's been!)

today is a no stress rest day for me.. the doctor from lastnight said that i'm too stressed and what i was experiencing was partly viral infection / anxiety attack. sounds clinical that way... i know there's a better way of putting it.. but can't find my word right now.

so i was thinking what it is that relaxes me.. writing is on the top of my list.. so bare with me, this is therapy!

the only difference between a tragedy and a comedy is that.. well.. in one the guy gets the girl.. and the other.. hmm.. he dies. so you go figure which is which.. but this much i can tell you. they are both funny as hell.. atleast if you think about it!

i'd love to say that that's my original idea -- but it's not. i heard it from the movie stranger than fiction. that cover copyrights, et al.

my point - life is funny.. it just depends on how you tell and re-tell the story to make it a comedy.

so on we go with my story. (all those paragraph and i haven't even started yet)

i had to go back to work last night. my cough was already bad -- and was getting worse. so i decided to go home sick after my am meetings. but something needed my attention in the office that night so i had to go back. i like to think that's why they pay - cuz i get things done. and this is me getting a few things done.. against all odds!! [cue: background music - dramatic entrance you have no right...]

i got the chance to sit in a quiet room in the office to think things through and get some work done. as i was about to go home. i was having a really hard time breathing. struggling for breath more than the usual. so i figured i'd bring myself to the hospital on my way home. plus everyone's been on my case about a check-up!

i really don't like hospitals.. i called meng while i was waiting - so she kept me company while i was there.. there was also a cute girl there... that's another story sometime in the end of this blog.

when i'm not talking to anyone - all these thoughts are in my mind. well.. i again promised my self that i'd write my short stories.. there's one story about a guy (me) adopting a dog (mischa) with the motive of using the cutest dog to pick up chicks... i adopted the dog and pick up chicks i did.. i was able to train mischa to bother cute girls on cue.. worked very well until.. well.. i met the one girl (stereo-typical cute girl). her name is mischa! (twisted random coincidence). we hit it off. and she was pleasant about having the same name as my dog. a few more random stories of sweety-sweety shit. (and a beach scene somewhere there is a must.. na may outing and dance number!) but akitas - mischa's breed are not water dogs.. so trying to figure how i'll throw in the beach-outing scene there.. near the end, or the conflict is.. mischa killed mischa... the bitch killed my dog! (i love this statement). not really sure how it will end.. but i will when i write it down..

i'm a storyteller, so while i was in the hospital (i really hate hospitals), i was again plotting another story.. it's about queenie (the cute nurse) and her patient.. so this guy comes into the emergency room for a minor treatment. queenie was interrupted as she was telling her friend, amy (also a nurse) how she hates it when patients hit on her in the emergency room.. by.. who else.. the dude! queenie thought the guy was remotely cute.. (translation - MABAIT!) but he was sweet as hell.. and very pleasant and all that. and guess what, flirting with her. so she decided to play along. and it was weird.. the guy was wearing a barely corporate shirt, tucked out over his jeans and chuck taylors.. queenie knew for sure that this guy was corporate (ok.. so i think i'd fit in as the image for this -- that would exactly be what i was wearing). everything was almost perfect, the closest to cheese was when the guy asked that queenie hold his hands through the injection. (he doesn't like needles) she thought it was weird but did hold his hands anyway. now the guy is asking for queenie's number but the girl wouldn't give. she wants to give her number but wouldn't just cuz she was telling amy how she hates guys hitting on her at work.. don't shit where you eat.. even if it's the ER! the compromise was quennie promised to give the dude her number if he comes back to the ER another time and if he finds queenie on duty. what were the chances right? slim to none.. finally the guy is discharged and his last hail mary effort didn't even bring heat. great! 2 hours left on queenie's shift. and she's home sweet home.. alone (she thought! but she enjoys it) as slow as time went, "almost there!" queenie thought right when the alarm broke.. ambulance was bringing in a guy in a baby blue folded up shirt, jeans and chuck taylors. clothing was red all over with blood. from the across the er.. the guy finds queenies eyes and was asking that she come closer. they didn't ask him to fill the form, they brought out the one from 40 minutes ago (how considerate they are?!?!). it looks really bad.. trauma on the chest.. classic car accident. instinctively, queenie holds on to his hands.. as they wheeled him in. with all the blood and tears, guy throws a faint smile at queenie. and she really liked it, smiled back but seemed fake. she was really worried now and doesn't know what to do. instructions around her went blurr. guy grips her and and is trying to whisper something... "now do i get your number?" after the commotion, queenie writes her number on the guys arm with permanent marker. i'm not sure if the guys lives or not. but i'm leaning more on not. funnier that way! ahahha..

i still haven't gotten to tell you about my assymetrical hickey! it was from the ECG machine thingymajig! felt like frankenstein as this girl was hooking me up -- in a totally different light! so she puts my shirt up and attaches those sucky-thingies! across my chest.. didn't really take a lot of time. at the end.. "sir.. we're done" WHAM! yanks the whole damn thing from my chest. so now i have two hickies across my chest.. i thought that was funny. wasn't in the mood to be not in the mood then. so i just took it.

there is also this gay nurse dude who gave me attitude.. hahaha.. i realized i deserved it. he was saying something and i wasn't paying attention. so the dude just colds me. suddenly acted as if i weren't there. in my mind "ok - i deserved that" for some reason naisip ko si maco! hahaha...

and there was a beautiful girl with her boyfriend. i think they brought the girl's mom to the ER. beautiful girls walk a certain way. they have "the walk". with her flowery bag on her left hand and a mobile on the other as she walks past everyone in the ER. gives the illusion that people get out of her runway as she struts across. she looked corporate too. except.. well.. she had flowers on her bandana-ish majig across her forehead tied around her nape. and the tail running down with her hair. red shoes that matches her red bag.. she was wearing stilts too, so i figured she came from work when called to the hospital.

they left the ER. and soon after i was sent to x-ray. by this time, i've caught glances with this girl. and here's what broke me to silent laughter. across the hall in radiology, her guy was leaning on a table barely visible from where i was standing. so the girl was standing infront of him and holding hands with the guy.. she leans nearer the guys chest tilts her head to my direction and throws me a "look"! ha! she was rubbing it in! hahaha... ouch! i was frantically screaming in my head.. "ref!! foul!! ref!! FOUUULL!!!" no red card given... dang!

so decided to watch thismovei with al pacino and the guy from beautiful mind.. about nicotine smoking.. and the whole drama of this doctor giving a testimony.. how ironic is it that i was in the hospital with chest pains (most like due to smoking) and HBO was playing a movie saying nicotine is addictive! the universe's way of saying "I TOLD YOU SO!!!"

everything after that was rather uneventful. all this in a normal day in the crazy world with glen. imagine!

Thanks God we swallowed our fried. Kasi, I'm 36 na and I'm running our time. After 2 weeks, he plopped the question.
"Will you marriage me?" I'm in a state of shocked. Kasi mantakin mo, when it rains, it's four! This is true good to be true. So siyempre, I said yes. Love is a many splendor.

Pero nung inaayos ko na ang aming kasal, everything swell to pieces.Nag-di-dinner kami noon nang biglang sa harap ng aming table, may babaeng humirit ng, "Well, well, well. Look do we have here." What the fuss! The nerd ng babaeng yon! She said they were still on. So I told her, whatever is that, cut me some slacks! I didn't want this to get our hand kaya I had to
sip it in the bud. She accused me of steeling her boyfriend. Ats if! I don't want to portrait the role of the other woman. Gosh, tell me to the marines! I told her, "please, mine you own business!" Who would believe her anyway?

Dahil it's not my problem anymore but her problem anymore, tumigil na rin siya ng panggugulo. Everything is coming up daisies. I'm so happy. Even my boyfriend said liketwice. He's so supportive. Sabi niya, "Look at is this way. She's our of our lives."

Kaya advise ko sa inyo - take the risk. You can never can tell. Just burn the bridge when you get there. Life is shorts. If you make a mistake, we'll just pray for the internal and external repose of your soul. I second emotion..

judging by the frequecy of my blogs.. you should know that everything has gone back to normal.. i.e. i'm back working.. there are a few thing unsettling me.. that's that.

i have managed to not show up for everything i have (or people have) planned for me. no night outs.. no clubs.. man.. i was looking forward to that. i just can't get over the fact that my night out happens while the sun is still out. and my sleeping habits are not doing so well either.

this has become seriously uneventful. i'm ready to go home..

but here's the highlight of the day..

mom and i agreed that we're going to check out the location of the office and how to get there.. well, finding it was the easy part.. we did a bit of walking around the city after we found the building. so mom was doing her whole tourist guide bit.. and kept on boasting her vast knowledge of san francisco commute. (it was rather interesting that we were the only two people in turista attire in the shuttle this morning)

then mom started making weird turns into dodgy streets.. if she weren't my mom.. i'd think that she was going to mug me or something, leading me into her strategic location.. IT'S WORSE! suddenly she's going into a church.. ok.. i got marooned into going to church.. then the park.. mosconi center.. and doing the whole turista thing.. ARG!! and mom does that all the time.

well.. technically not the second day of my trip.. but i figured i'd just count it this way so as not to confuse myself (i get confused easily.. a lot of you know that..)

2 things that happened to me yesterday (sunday!)

1. drove a hundred miles in my brothers complicated ass car! literally a hundr miles.. ang layo!! but can i just say.. i'm loving GPS! hahaha.. i imagine if my car had that, atleast may kausap ako sa car lagi.. kahit na mejo suplada..

2. family day extraordinaire! duane said i'm all special cuz nj and louie made a rare appearance just for me.. together no less!! i almost had the feeling that it's on the same level as a lunar eclipse! and they all changed a whole lot! a whole lot!

marriage talk (nanaman!!), how-you-do's, you were so little then talk, forgetting cousin names.. juz like 'ol times!

so normally i blog about things that happen to me when i travel.. well, not necesarily blog, but i do write about them.. mainly because knowing myself, i'd forget.

my flight was ok.. just that.. ok. i wish there were free seats so i could have moved around a bit.. let's just say there is a particular seat i wish i were seating on.

Squirrel goes on rampage, injures 3

BERLIN (Reuters) - An aggressive squirrel attacked and injured three people in a German town before a 72-year-old pensioner dispatched the rampaging animal with his crutch.

The squirrel first ran into a house in the southern town of Passau, leapt from behind on a 70-year-old woman, and sank its teeth into her hand, a local police spokesman said Thursday.

With the squirrel still hanging from her hand, the woman ran onto the street in panic, where she managed to shake it off.

The animal then entered a building site and jumped on a construction worker, injuring him on the hand and arm, before he managed to fight it off with a measuring pole.

"After that, the squirrel went into the 72-year-old man's garden and massively attacked him on the arms, hand and thigh," the spokesman said. "Then he killed it with his crutch."

The spokesman said experts thought the attack may have been linked to the mating season or because the squirrel was ill.

i've been wanting to blog for the longest time. sadly, i just haven't got the time to sit down and write anything decent of an entry.

decided to write snippets down on my journal. average four lines per entry.. rather short for someone who talks like me.

recently i found new friends. its funny how you find these guys and you just want to spend every moment with her.. i mean them! hahaha... sometimes things work out really well.. other times, well... they just don't.

i've always thought that friendships and/or relationships in general thrive on the differences rather than similarities.. but then it's funny how things are started by what you share in common. (**hmm.. that almost sounded profound. too bad it doesn't make sense). a point will come though, at least in my experience that the differences (i.e. coming from different worlds, etc) will inevitably shatter you back into reality. (**too dramatic). wake you up back to reality. (**sounds better).

i'm reading a book by Malcolm Gladwell called "blink". i really find it interesting as i associate so many of my past experience with what the book is talking about. i have always highlighted how the seemingly blink of an eye, day-to-day decision plays a crucial (**central even!) role in where you are right now. and these are the littlest things.. what you ordered for lunch on a particular day, deciding to go to a party you initially didn't want to go to, what shirt you wear.. i firmly believe that these seemingly mundane things add up and equate to where you are.. e.g. if i had not worn my blue shirt to my first job interview, i probably won't be exactly who i am right now... i don't know how.. but that's my gut feeling.

and that's exactly what blink talks about, your gut feeling and how it works. amazing.

for some time now, i've been thinking of writing a book. i figure that i'd probably have something interesting to say.. operative word is probably.. i can't quite explain what fulfillment i get in writing. it's just something that i sincerely enjoy. not writing per se, but story-telling. i love telling stories and i seem to never run out of them.

there are a few who are much better at this than i am, more energetic, funnier, accurate.. but i doubt that none share this love for story-telling the same level that i do.

a lot figure me as a talker.. but i always think of myself as a listener first before a talker.. and that's because i like to absorb (**steal is a more apt word) other people's story for my chance to tell on my own chance. that's probably how i am..

and it's funny because with my bad memory, i tend to repeat stories.. and people just find that weird.. and i realized that i have the tendency to tell the same story over and over.. and i recently realized that i tell it the same way. exactly the same way..

has it become an act for me? well, i've always wanted to be a stand-up comedian.. but apparently you need to be funny for that.. an insignificant requisite if you ask me..

it's been a while since i last blogged. this spot has probably been feeling very deprived. but the good news is, i think i have a few minutes to write down a few things.
having not blogged for a long time puts a lot of things into perspective. and how i missed it. and i realize that blogging for me is not necessarily for people to read it -- i'm pretty sure not a lot of people read this at all. but heck.. it's therapeutic for me. it's my outlet of sorts. let things out.. but how much are we allowed to let out?
always consider that blogging brings your thoughts "out-there". a contribution to society, maybe?
on one hand, blogging has become a powerful tool of sharing (and gathering) information. in this case, truth shall set you free. and i mean the whole truth.
but then, you have to cover your behind as well. like most things, balance is crucial.

i really didn't get to do all the chores that i was looking to get done for today. i honestly have a whole lot of laundry to take care of. and now i'm cramming to get them all done. ofcourse while watching a replay of the barca-chelsea game.

last night was FutKal night out. hahaha.. and this is an indication of how crazy i have become. i went over to peter's to chill after work. like a few other past occasion we chill and grab a few burrrrs... hahaha... we 'borrow' a mask from his tita's garden and we are on our way for a beer run.. with our mask and futkalista cap on.

and it doesn't stop there.. we decide to chill at piedra with our masks, caps, and sweaters. and ofcourse.. a ball.

we meet up with a few friends. and drop the ball! belive it or not, we were a group made up mostly of girls kicking a ball around insed a club! that's street attitude right there!

and seeing the open area down stairs.. we just couldn't resist playing a quick game.. mano-o-mano.. ok.. so peter kicked my ass.. that's why i practice more.

when i got home.. i was totally stumped..

on a related note.. FutKal is starting to make waves. today we got our second feature story at the inquirer. but i still can't blog about it cuz it hasn't made the archive yet.. i'm concerned that the URL might change.. or maybe not.. let me try.. here.

i hope that works.. which reminds me.. i'd like to blog about that on the FutKal blog as well. one thing that i've been enjoying doing now is to google futkal and check out what people have been saying about FutKal. and ofcourse slowly build on it. right now, people raving about FutKal i can count them with my two hands.. but that will build soon.
